Program International Relations and Public Diplomacy zakłada realizację wspólnego programu studiów opracowanego przez Uniwersytet Jagielloński i Uniwersytet w Sienie. W praktyce każdy student musi zrealizować wszystkie kursy obligatoryjne i odpowiednią ilość przedmiotów fakultatywnych zarówno w Krakowie jak i w Sienie w formie stacjonarnej. W drugim roku akademickim studiów II stopnia student zobowiązany jest do realizacji wszystkich przedmiotów obligatoryjnych oraz odpowiedniej ilości przedmiotów fakultatywnych (minimum 20 ECTS), które łącznie pozwolą mu uzyskać w skali roku akademickiego minimum 60 punktów ECTS. Jeśli treści programowe kursów już odbytych będą się powielać to student ma prawo wybrać inne kursy z oferty innych kierunków studiów (w szczególności oferty International Security and Development Studies) na podstawie zgody koordynatora programu.
