Description of the program implementation

Program studiów drugiego stopnia na kierunku geologia daje możliwość wyboru ścieżki kształcenia w zakresie 3 specjalizacji: Analiza systemów depozycyjnych (ASD), Cyfrowa analiza danych geologicznych (CADG), Mineralogia i geochemia (MG).

Wybór opiekuna naukowego, tematu pracy magisterskiej i kursów specjalizacyjnych odbywa się na podstawie druku deklaracji studenta, podpisanej przez opiekuna naukowego. Kursy obligatoryjne dla danej specjalizacji są jednocześnie kursami do wyboru dla studentów realizujących inną specjalizację. Za zgodą z-cy dyrektora ds. dydaktycznych, studenci mogą wybrać kurs fakultatywny z katalogu kursów do wyboru dla studiów pierwszego stopnia na kierunku geologia lub kurs z innego kierunku studiów. Zajęcia w bezpośrednim kontakcie z nauczycielem prowadzone są w zakresie przekraczającym 50% sumarycznej liczby punktów ECTS, koniecznej do skończenia studiów. Przykładowe stosowane metody dydaktyczne to: wykład informacyjny, metody aktywizujące (m.in. seminarium) oraz metody praktyczne tj. ćwiczenia przedmiotowe, ćwiczenia laboratoryjne, metoda projektów. Szczególny nacisk kładziony jest na ćwiczenia terenowe. Podstawowe wykorzystywane środki dydaktyczne to kolekcje dydaktyczne (np. skały węglanowe, struktury sedymentacyjne), preparaty do badań mikroskopowych, cyfrowe zasoby danych geologicznych oraz specjalistyczne programy komputerowe. W toku realizacji programu studiów, studenci uczestniczą w badaniach naukowych, prowadzonych w jednostce i prowadzą własne badania pod nadzorem nauczyciela.
