Description of the program implementation

The compulsory courses of the study program are mainly carried out during the first two years. In the third year, students choose two of the four specialization modules. In the third year, students also complete the self-education module EChemTest (one test to choose from a specific pool of tests). In the last semester, they conduct research for their bachelor's thesis.

The study program provides for an obligatory professional practice at an employer operating in the area related to chemistry.

Interested students have the opportunity to participate in additional classes preparing to obtain a license to teach chemistry.

Graduation

1. A prerequisite for graduation is the successful completion of all courses, the submission of a diploma thesis, and a satisfactory grade in both the thesis and the written diploma examination.

2. The diploma dissertation is an independent study of a specific scientific issue presenting the student's general knowledge and skills related to a given field of study, level and profile of education as well as his/her independent analysis and reasoning skills.

3. The diploma thesis shall be submitted in a written form.

In the second year of study, the student must complete the courses Inorganic Chemistry I - Conversation, Inorganic Chemistry II - Conversation, Organic Chemistry - Laboratory, but can choose whether to complete these courses in Polish or English. In English, the student may also complete the conversation course in the Fundamentals of Quantum Chemistry course and the laboratory course in the Fundamentals of Quantum Chemistry - laboratory. In Year III the student must complete courses in the humanities and social sciences for 3 ECTS. With the approval of the dean, the student may complete courses in the humanities and social sciences and a course in economics and entrepreneurship outside the catalogue below.
