Description of the program implementation

Program studiów Bioinformatyka (drugiego stopnia) obejmuje (1) przedmioty obowiązkowe (łącznie 42 ECTS); (2) przedmioty do wyboru (co najmniej 21 ECTS do zrealizowania w semestrach 1, 2 i 3), (3) pracownię specjalistyczną i dwie magisterskie (łącznie 48 ECTS), (4) praktikum przygotowania pracy magisterskiej w formie pisemnej rozprawy (5 ECTS), (5) lektorat języka angielskiego (studenci wybierają poziom, 4 ECTS). Obszar kształcenia obowiązkowego został zrealizowany w taki sposób, aby odpowiednie przedmioty miały możliwie niewiele prerekwizytów, dzięki czemu studia mogą być oferowane absolwentom możliwie wielu kierunków studiów pierwszego stopnia, którzy po rozpoczęciu studiów II stopnia na kierunku bioinformatyka ciągle mają możliwość nadrobienia braków w wiedzy i umiejętnościach, zaliczając przedmioty wymagane do zrealizowania specjalistycznych przedmiotów fakultatywnych. W obszarze kształcenia fakultatywnego, przedmioty oferowane studentom zostały podzielone na cztery kategorie: przedmioty kierunkowe (min. 12 ECTS), przedmioty interdyscyplinarne (zazwyczaj 9 ECTS), przedmioty uzupełniające (maks. 3 ECTS) oraz przedmioty z nauk humanistycznych lub społecznych (co najmniej 2 ECTS). Warto zauważyć, że program studiów daje możliwość wyboru przedmiotów interdyscyplinarnych spoza tej listy. Obszar kształcenia fakultatywnego uzupełniają pracownia specjalistyczna oraz dwie pracownie magisterskie, gdzie studenci pod merytoryczną opieką doświadczonych dydaktyków i badaczy mogą realizować swoje pasje badawcze związane z bioinformatyką. Minimalna liczba ECTS konieczna do zaliczenia każdego z dwóch lat studiów wynosi 60.

Integralną częścią programu studiów są sylabusy poszczególnych kursów. Szczególnie istotne informacje dotyczące kursów podane są w części Wymagania wstępne i dodatkowe informacje.

Graduation

Warunkiem ukończenia studiów jest złożenie pracy dyplomowej oraz zdanie egzaminu dyplomowego. Praca dyplomowa jest przygotowywana przez studenta pod kierunkiem promotora, będącego pracownikiem badawczo-dydaktycznym lub badawczym WBBiB i zatrudnionym na stanowisku adiunkta lub profesora. W uzasadnionych przypadkach, praca magisterska może być realizowana pod kierunkiem promotora zewnętrznego. Praca magisterska musi być przygotowana w formie pisemnej zgodnie z wymogami obowiązującymi na WBBiB i dokumentować uzyskane przez studenta oryginalne wyniki przeprowadzonych w ramach realizowanych pracowni magisterskich badań z zakresu szeroko rozumianej bioinformatyki. Integralną częścią pracy jest zatwierdzony przez Radę Programową studiów Bioinformatyka (drugiego stopnia), najpóźniej do końca 3 semestru studiów, szczegółowy opis bioinformatycznych aspektów badań, których opis i wyniki zawiera praca. Egzamin dyplomowy zdawany jest przez studenta przed powołaną w tym celu komisją. Egzamin dyplomowy poprzedza krótka prezentacja najważniejszych tez pracy dyplomowej.

Student w całym cyklu kształcenia musi zrealizować co najmniej 21 ECTS w ramach przedmiotów kierunkowych lub interdyscyplinarnych.

W semestrach 1 i 2 student musi wybrać fakultatywne przedmioty kierunkowe z grup {K1, K2} za co najmniej 7 ECTS. W tych semestrach student musi wybrać łącznie co najmniej 14 ECTS z grup {K1, K2} oraz {S1, S2} (fakultatywne przedmioty interdyscyplinarne). Spośród przedmiotów wybranych przez studenta z grup {U1, U2}, student może pisemnie zawnioskować o uznanie maks. 3 ECTS do puli fakultatywnych przedmiotów interdyscyplinarnych. Student, na podstawie pisemnego wniosku pozytywnie zaopiniowanego przez Kierownika studiów i po uzyskaniu zgody Prodziekana ds. dydaktyki, może zrealizować inne przedmioty fakultatywne (spoza grup K1-K3, S1-S3), jednak łączna liczba ECTS zaliczonych na potrzeby zaliczenia fakultatywnych przedmiotów interdyscyplinarnych nie może przekroczyć 3 ECTS. Na potrzebę zaliczenia przedmiotów z nauk humanistycznych lub społecznych (grupy H1 i H2), student może wybrać dowolny kurs z oferty dydaktycznej Uniwersytetu Jagiellońskiego w Krakowie, któremu jest przypisany jeden z następujących kodów ISCED: 021x, 022x, 031x oraz 032x (gdzie x to dowolna cyfra). Łączna liczba ECTS za fakultatywne przedmioty z nauk humanistycznych lub społecznych powinna wynieść co najmniej 2.

Studenci w ramach swojego toku studiów realizują Pracownię specjalistyczną (semestr 2), Pracownię magisterską 1 (semestr 3) oraz Pracownię magisterską 2 (semestr 4). Szczegółowe warunki zaliczenia tych pracowni podane są w odpowiednich sylabusach.

Studenci wybierają promotora swojej pracy magisterskiej do końca pierwszego semestru studiów i mogą zmienić swój wybór tylko jeden raz w całym toku studiów, nie później jednak niż w pierwszych czterech tygodniach trzeciego semestru studiów.
