Description of the program implementation

Studia na kierunku "analiza danych społecznych" są studiami interdyscyplinarnymi koordynowanymi w Instytucie Socjologii UJ przy współpracy wykładowców z innych jednostek Uniwersytetu. Aby pomyślnie ukończyć studia z tytułem magistra należy w ciągu dwóch lat uzyskać co najmniej 124 punkty ECTS. W trakcie pierwszego roku studiów studenci i studentki zobowiązani są zrealizować m.in. kursy wprowadzające z zakresu programowania i metodologii badań. Ponadto studenci i studentki zobowiazani są odbyć kurs wprowadzenia do empirycznych badań społecznych. Podczas drugiego roku obowiązkowe są m.in. kursy zaawansowane z metodologii i analizy danych wielowymiarowych, kursy praktyczne metodologiczne i z zakresu analizy danych (praktyki). Obok kursów obligatoryjnych studenci i studentki wybierają kursy fakultatywne. W ciągu dwóch lat studiów studenci są zobowiązani do realizacji kursu z języka obcego (z języka angielskiego). W trakcie studiów będą realizować własne projekty badawcze (od projektowania badań czy analizy danych po ich interpretację i raportowanie wyników) w ramach kursów warsztatowych i praktyk w firmach, NGO, instytucjach badawczych, administracji publicznej. W ostatnim semestrze będzie czas na przygotowanie pracy magisterskiej. W pierwszym roku studiów (semestr I i II) studenci i studentki zobowiązani są uzyskać co najmniej 6 ECTS z przedmiotów fakultatywnych, natomiast w roku II (semestr III i IV) studenci i studentki muszą uzyskać min. 18 ECTS za przedmioty fakultatywne. Studia będą trwały 4 semestry. Praktyki mają charakter obowiązkowy.

Graduation

Praca dyplomowa ma charakter analityczny z wykazaniem zastosowania metod analizy poznanych w czasie studiów do rozwiązywania zagadanień społecznych oraz egzamin.

W I semestrze studenci są zobowiązani do realizacji wszystkich zajęć obligatoryjnych przewidzianych w programie studiów oraz wybranych kursów fakultatywnych oferowanych w semestrze 1, w tym takich, które wprowadzają kontekst analizy danych społecznych. Lista kursów fakultatywnych może ulec modyfikacji. I semestr polega na zapoznaniu się z podstawami matematycznej i statystycznej analizy danych, w tym poznanie języka programowania. Pierwszy semestr będzie ważny z punktu widzenia pokazania, jakie teorie i koncepcje będą podstawą do praktycznych analiz z wykorzystaniem danych o różnym charakterze.
